Welcome to The Nail Altar. By purchasing from or using the website (thenailaltar.com), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.


Section 1: Intellectual Property Rights

1.1 Ownership

All nail designs, artwork, photography, branding, logos, digital guides, and tutorials created by The Nail Altar are the exclusive intellectual property of Chelsea Volinsky. All rights are reserved. No designs were created in collaboration with other artists — all work is solely created by the owner.

1.2 License to Use

When you purchase from The Nail Altar, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the physical products and any accompanying digital content for personal use only. You may not:

  • Reproduce, copy, or replicate our nail designs for commercial purposes
  • Use the brand name, logo, or designs in your own branding or marketing
  • Mass-produce or commission reproductions of designs
  • Sell designs as your own work

1.3 Personal Transfer & Secondhand Sales

You may gift or resell your purchased items to another individual (e.g., on Poshmark, Depop, Facebook Marketplace, or to a friend or family member), provided that:

  • The items are accurately represented as secondhand or pre-owned — not as new or official The Nail Altar products
  • The resale is not operated as a business, wholesale operation, or commercial venture
  • You do not misrepresent the source, condition, or authenticity of the items

Commercial resale, wholesale distribution, or operating a resale business using The Nail Altar products is strictly prohibited.

1.4 Social Media & User-Generated Content

I love seeing you wear your nails! By tagging The Nail Altar or using hashtags on social media, you grant me permission to repost, share, or feature your content for marketing and promotional purposes without requiring additional approval for each individual post. I will always credit you when I share your content.


Section 2: Returns & Refunds Policy

2.1 General Return Window

I accept returns on unopened, sealed products within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible for a full refund, items must be in their original, unaltered packaging with all components included.

2.2 Non-Returnable Products

For hygiene reasons, I cannot accept returns on:

  • Nail sets that have been applied or worn
  • Sizing kits that have been used or handled
  • Any opened product where the seal has been broken

This policy is similar to cosmetics and personal care products and is in place to protect all of my customers.

2.3 Defective Products

If you receive a defective product, please contact me within 3 days of delivery with photos of the defect and your order number. I will remake and reship the affected item(s) at no cost to you. I stand behind the quality of our work. This is handled case-by-case. 

2.4 Preference-Based Returns

If you are unsatisfied with your order for reasons other than a defect (e.g., fit, color, style), I evaluate these situations on a case-by-case basis. I may offer a store credit, exchange, or partial refund at our discretion. Please reach out — I always aim to find a fair solution.

2.5 How to Initiate a Return

To start a return or report an issue, contact me at thenailaltar@gmail.com with:

  • Your order number
  • The reason for your return
  • Photos (required for defect claims)

I will respond within 3–5 business days with next steps.


Section 3: Shipping & Delivery

3.1 Shipping Timeframe

Orders are typically processed within 5–10 business days. Delivery timelines vary by carrier and location. Custom orders may require additional processing time.

3.2 Delayed Shipments

Carrier delays are outside my control and are the responsibility of the shipping carrier. If your order has not arrived within 30 days of your expected delivery date, please contact me at thenailaltar@gmail.com and I will work with you to investigate and resolve the situation on a case-by-case basis.

3.3 Damage During Shipping

If your order arrives damaged, please report it within 3 days of delivery with photos of the packaging and damaged item(s). I will replace or remake the damaged product at no charge.


Section 4: Product Liability & Disclaimers

4.1 What We Are Responsible For

The Nail Altar is responsible for:

  • Delivering products that match their descriptions
  • Remaking or replacing items with manufacturing defects
  • Providing accurate product information

4.2 What We Are Not Responsible For

The Nail Altar is not responsible for:

  • Allergic reactions to adhesives, nail materials, or any product components
  • Damage resulting from improper application or removal
  • Normal wear and tear over time
  • Errors in sizing or fit resulting from user-provided measurements
  • Damage caused by a third-party nail technician

4.3 Safety & Allergy Warnings

Please read all instructions before use. We recommend the following precautions:

  • Patch test: If you have sensitive skin or known adhesive allergies, perform a patch test before full application
  • Ventilation: Use products in a well-ventilated area
  • Discontinue use if you experience irritation, redness, or discomfort
  • Avoid eye contact with adhesives and nail products
  • Not for unsupervised use by children

4.4 Assumption of Risk

By purchasing and using The Nail Altar products, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with their use, including the risk of allergic reactions, skin irritation, or nail damage. If you have known allergies or sensitivities to nail products or adhesives, it is strongly recommend consulting a dermatologist before use.


Section 5: Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Nail Altar's total liability for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the purchase price of the product in question. I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind.


Section 6: Customer Conduct & Restrictions

6.1 Prohibited Activities

By using The Nail Altar website and purchasing products, you agree not to:

  • Operate a resale business, wholesale operation, or dropshipping service using my products
  • Reproduce, copy, or sell my original nail designs as your own
  • Use The Nail Altar's name, logo, or branding without written permission
  • Use my platform for any unlawful purpose

6.2 Enforcement

I reserve the right to pursue legal action for intellectual property violations, unauthorized commercial use of my designs, or any activity that causes harm to my brand or business.


Section 7: Changes to These Terms

I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the website or purchase of my products after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.


Section 8: Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern or dispute, I encourage you to contact me directly first at thenailaltar@gmail.com. I are committed to resolving issues fairly and promptly. If a resolution cannot be reached through direct communication, disputes shall be handled in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
